Scenery

Here are a few interesting vistas we've seen recently:



That's me at the very top of the "New Castle" built in 1020 AD. These folks have a real sense of humor!




Part of what I could see from my perch. A rather commanding view of the river and surrounding country--which I guess was the whole point!



This was the queen's chambers when she came by. Very cramped,cold, hard and dark. If like was this uncomfortable for royalty, what must life have been like for everyone else?




The ring in this stone was used to tie up a bull upon which a pack of dogs was set loose--and we think video games are bad....
